Nokia Android prototype reportedly is still into production19 September, 2013

Last week the New York Times revealed that Nokia has indeed worked on an Android smartphone as an alternative to the Microsoft partnership prior to the acquisition announcement. As it turns out, the Finns haven't completely scraped the Android project and are still working on an Android smartphone.
The report comes from a Weibo account CTechnology, which has generally been a reputable source of leaks from China. we are mentioning China, because this where Nokia has based the R&D of its Android smartphoneр dubbed "Mountain View", more specifically in the Beijing offices of the company.
In fact, the project is so ahead in its development that Foxconn has made and delivered a cool 10,000 "Mountain View" prototype units to date. Moreover, there are still more development that's going around the prototype and Foxconn is continuing its manufacturing. According to the report, the project will continue to live on at least until November. Then, Nokia shareholders are bound to approve or denounce Microsoft's acquisition offer.
As for the "Mountain View" prototype itself, Nokia has based it on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 8225Q chip with the sole intention of the Android smartphone to be affordable. No more information regarding further specifications is available at this point. We wouldn't be surprised if we some of these prototypes leak when, and if, the project gets cancelled.
The Microsoft and Nokia deal, however, is likely to pass and the company's Android initiative is likely to go bite the dust by the end of the year. Here's hoping we at least get to see how the "Mountain View" prototype looks like if the project really does go south.

Nokia’s Android phone isn’t cancelled yet!

Few days ago we’ve told you that while Microsoft was mulling the Surface Phone, Nokia experimented with an Android device. And guess what – that project isn’t cancelled yet, according to this article at Unwired View.
The Finnish company’s “Plan B” codenamed “Mountain View” is/was a low-end phone that rocks Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 200 chip. Nokia’s Beijing-based R&D center did all the work and has even contracted Foxconn to make 10,000 prototype units. That’s quite a batch for something that shouldn’t be released and who knows, if things don’t go according to the plan – we may see an Android-based Lumia… though I doubt that will happen.
As I’m writing this — and since the board approved the deal — I see no reason why would anyone who actually owns a piece of Nokia would want to stop Microsoft from acquiring the company. Sure enough, Nokia employees may not like it and the same goes for Finland’s general public. Alas, these guys and gals don’t get to decide on these matter. ;(
It’s interesting to ponder nonetheless and we’re eager to know – would you go for an Android-based Nokia phone?

tp rega kene seimbang dan lebey murah la...dgn platform Android...aku rs rega Nokia bakal tak semajap masa sedang guna OS Microsft ni,,,
harap2 paduan due Nokia dan Andorid bakal menjadi kenyataan....
mesti ramai bekas pengguna Nokia ( aku masih guna nOkia E714 =Opis punyer ),,,,tak sabor tunggu smartphone Nokia android....

tp rega kene seimbang dan lebey murah la...dgn platform Android...aku rs rega Nokia bakal tak sema ...
tapi med..saya keliru dgn status nokia.. katanya dah dijual terus ke Microsoft gara2 trojan horse si Stephen Elop - ex CEO nokia yg akan keje terus dgn MS... ada yg kata sbhgn Nokia masih hidup & bergerak sendiri.. x paham tang tu... if Nokia dah kena telan abis dgn MS...rasanya benda ni cuma angan2 kosong jelah .. Nokia akan terus dgn Window Phone Lumia seriesnya aja

yg ni kira mcm kes amsung.....OS Bada sendiri puny ada tp sambutan yellek....so Nokia yg dah dibeli Oleh Microsoft kene pikio balik tentang perkembangan semasa mengapa Nokia tarak laku dan kurang sambutan...depa kene jilat ludah depa balik yg mati2 takmo guna OS android..mebe setengah2 HP nokia akan guna OS android dan pd masa yg sama masih mengekalkan identiti nokia...
aku speku camtu la TH,.,.,

hmm..setakat ni saya cuma ralat sikit sbb payah nak main game yg ada dlm android, instgram, mozilla dan keek sahaja..
so kenapa tak boleh android bukak sikit pintu bg kami download benda2 tu..yg lain semua kami dah ada..haha
btw..nak ke google bagi microsoft guna android..depa kan musuh ketat..ke dah merge.. |

susah sikit kot sbb ada pattern dan script yg jadi senjata rahsia masing-masing..mcm kfc dgn mc donald..mungkin mc donald boleh supply
roti kat kfc..tapi ndak ke kfc bagi dia punya so secret recipe lah sangat tu kat mc donald?..dlm term ni yg plg byk rugi dah tentu la google..
sbb tu plg cantik google buka playstore dia kat nokia..os guna masing2..itu pun klu nak bekerjasama lah..

ada yg kata bakal ada Nokia dgn Jolla- Sailfish OS yg boleh port app drp Android sebab sama2 linux base.. lau Nokia move to new OS (open source) tanpa byk restriction mcm Window Phone tu dengan app2 yg boleh tarik drp Android & symbian ...saya rasa Nokia leh bangkit dari abu semula

itu yg saya keliru sikit.. ada yg kata bahawa Nokia yg nk guna Android ni katanya division lain yg x dibeli lagi oleh Microsoft... ntah saya pun x paham sgt situasi Nokia skrg ni

nokia tengah menguji android sebelum microsoft ambil alih nokia,
perjanjian nokia dan microsoft akan tamat pada tahun 2014, mungkin lepas itu nokia nak guna android
sebab tu ada prototype nokia dengan android, dan mungkin salah satu faktor microsoft beli nokia
tanpa nokia, siapa nak pakai phone yg pakai os vvindovv...
daripada pandangan pengguna ios
