XVI: JOHANNES FENNER. STARTED THE AUSTRALIAN-MALAYSIAN FENNER LINE (1841-1860)
My great-grandfather Johannes Fenner (born in Niedergrenzebach in 1841) migrated to Australia in 1860, to seek his fortune in gold. At 19, he found his way to Liverpool and jumped on the ship King of Algeria. He arrived in Australia on 26th January 1860 and was naturalised on 7th February 1874. In 1875, in Talbot, he married Mary Walton Thomas from South Australia. Mary was the daughter of Thomas Thomas of Staffordshire (UK) and Mary Jane Davies from Breconshire, Wales. Apart from Johannes’ gold-hunting activities, he and Mary ran Dunach Hotel, a eight-room timber hotel-cum-family house, completely with a drinking saloon, until the hotel got burnt down, and they moved to the then unoccupied Dunach schoolhouse across the road. The Fenner family then moved to Yendon before returning to Dunach. Towards the end of their ives they bred turkeys for a living. Johannes died in 1923 and Mary in 1936. Both are buried in the same grave at Amherst Cemetery near Dunach. Their eight children were all born in Dunach:
1. Annie Elizabeth (1876-1880)
2. Alvena Mary Ellen (1877-1937)
3. JOHN WILLIAM HENRY aka JACK FENNER (11.11.1879 – 6.7.1926) STARTED THE AUSTRALIAN-MALAYSIAN FENNER LINE
4. Adeline (1881)
5. Charles Albert Edward Fenner (1884-1955)
6. Ida Ruby May (1886-1964)
7. Frederick (Fred) Walter Helwig (1889-1969)
8. Thomas Richard Fenner b 1892 was killed in action on 29 Aug 1916 at Mouquet Farm in France during WWI
GEN 17: JOHN WILLIAM HENRY aka JACK FENNER
STARTED THE FENNER LINE IN MALAYSIA.
He now has 220 descendants.
Jack Fenner, my grandfather, was born in Dunach on 11.11.1879. He sailed to Malaya (now Malaysia) in 1907 to mine tin. Apart from having his own mines, Jack helped Mr H E Pratten of Australia float the biggest dredge-mining ventures in Kamunting near Taiping in Perak. But generous to a fault, especially with friends, the fortune he made in Malaya melted away. (See his obituary in The Times of Malaya 7.7.1926).
In Malaya, around 1915, he married Ng Chew Ni, my Hakka Chinese grandmother born in Penang but lived in the tin-mining shanty town of Kamunting. Her father, Towkay Ng or Merchant Ng, owned a thriving hardware store that supplied the needs of miners and tin dredges. They had 5 Australian-Chinese children:
1. Jack Ambrose Fenner (1916-19 )
2. Maggie Elenor Fenner (1918-2007)
3. Dorothy Ida aka “Dolly” Fenner (1920-2011)
4. James Thomas Fenner (1921-2006)
5. Alvena aka “Arena” Fenner died as a child. (1924?-1930?)
Jack Fenner died on 6.7.1926 in the Batu Gajah Hospital, Perak, Malaya. He is resting in God’s Little Acre Cemetery (formerly Kinta Christian Cemetery) in Batu Gajah.
In 1930, my grandmother Ng Chew Ni married Hj Abd Hamid, a Malay-Muslim man, in Temoh Station, Perak. She and her five children were converted to Islam and took Malay names:
Ng Chew Ni -- Che Bee binti Abdullah
Jack Ambrose -- Abd Aziz Fenner (later Jack Fenner)
Maggie Elenor -- Mariam Hj Abd Hamid (later Mariam Fenner)
Dorothy Ida (Dolly) -- Mariah binti Hj Abd Hamid (Mariah Fenner)
James Thomas -- Abd Wahab Fenner (A.W. Fenner) *yg ni atok KRU
Alvena (Arena) -- Sophia (died as a child)

The brothers,who comprises of ,Norman ,Yusry,Edry was born in a well-bred ,loving -6 member family.
Their father ,Abdul Halim Bin Kamal , from Batu Gajah,Perak,is well-educated and qualifies as "Fellow Chartered Institute of Transport".He also held the manager post in a Malaysian petroleum company.Their mother,Zarina bt Abdul Wahab Fenner,from Gopeng,Perak was born on 2nd January 1953 and has mixed' blood of chineese,australian,and malay.KRU's sister ,Halina was born on 7 Jun 1978.
As children,the three brothers,Norman,8,Yusry,7,and Edry,4 have always had a certain passion for music.
They were die -hard fans of the ever-so-popular group,The Beatles.Badminton rackets were used as a subsitute
for guitars and biscuit tins as drums...(yusry play'ed the drums) Each one had their own idol in mind...Norman (John Lennon),Yusry (Paul Mc Cartney),Edry (Ringgo star@george Harrison) Sometimes,they would have their own 'Top of pops' chart..They would also perform for their uncles and auunties,compeeting against each other.
In their early teens,the brothers learned more about music producing while grewing up in London.Yusry learned more about song arrangements while Edry learned more about sounds,mixing ,technical ,recording and etc.
After returning to Malaysia,the brothers continued with each one's studies.Besides that,they always took the oppurtunity to watch their favourite team ,Selangor ,play in the Malaysian Semi -Pro. To show their support for the team,they composed a song ,"Viva Selangor",a rap song sung by Norman,which later ,they sent to the Selangor FA. Suprisingly,the officials enjoyed the song and made a special request for them to compose another song.So ,they composed the song,"Merah Kuning". The officials loved the song so much that the song was played in front of 40,000 selangor football team fans.
Gaining more confidence,they continued to compose songs and recorded them.Their demo-tape was passed from one person to another among Norman's friends.Without their knowledge,the demo-tape was given to Calvin Wong,International Department,EMI (M) Sdn.Bhd.Calvin then later suggested the brothers to compose songs which had more commercial value.From there,it was clear to the bros' that their music talent was appericiated by people.So,they composed a few more songs for Calvin to hear.
After Norman took his A-levels,they brought their new demo-tape to EMI.In the interview,Calvin asked the bros' why they wanted to join EMI..So,Norman replied saying that all their idols are under the EMI label.They were told to wait for a week for an aswer.
Later,the same night,Calvin contacted them and told them to come tomorrow to sign the contracts.Their life as a music band began...

Yang I ingat dia pangkat satu tapi agregat 18. Kemain satu Mesia puji gila babeng. Masa I spm baru I tahu agregat 18 tu sikit lagi nak masuk pangkat 2 Tapi takpelah, dia pun tak sempat belajar gamaknya  |

Pernah jumpa Sein Ruffedge masa diorang shooting Adamaya di UiTM...depan PTAR.
Sombong je muka dia tak reti senyum....dah la masa tu aku minat gila dia dengan Lisa Surihani....lepastu terus redflag.

aku cari2 kt youtube video lica joget dgn ayda jebat lepastu terjumpa reels ada peminat nak ambik gambar dgn kru. masa tengah posing tu lica sempat mencelah “jap jap jap” sambil lap peluh yuci
