tapi just share some trivia, dia ada cousin or 2nd cousin....Riki Hendrix..
pun gitaris & singer cam dia.... main style muzik pun sama...
2004 masa Deep Purple main kat Spore, Riki Hendrix ni jadi opening act...

BIOGRAPHY
Johnny Allen Hendrix was born in Seattle in 1942, although his father later changed his name to James Marshall Hendrix.
Hendrix, who had been playing guitar since childhood, made his living supporting touring soul and blues musicians. By 1966 he had his own band, 'Jimmy James and the Blue Flames', and a residency at the 'Cafe Wha?' in New York City.
He was discovered by Chas Chandler, of British rock group 'The Animals', who brought him to England, where record producer Chandler helped Hendrix form a new band, 'The Jimi Hendrix Experience'.
The band started to gain a reputation amongst their contemporaries, impressing members of 'The Beatles' and 'The Who', who signed him to their record label.
Success came with singles 'Hey Joe', 'Purple Haze' and 'The Wind Cries Mary'. These three songs were all Top 10 hits. 1967 also saw the release of the group's first album, 'Are You Experienced?'.
The band were booked for the Monterey Pop Festival, and the concert, with the infamous burning guitar, was a triumph. Hendrix's wild-man image and musical gimmickry (such as appearing to play guitar with his teeth) continued to garner him publicity.
1967 also saw the release of his second album. The 1968 double album 'Electric Ladyland', was more eclectic and experimental. The recording of the album was extremely problematic, partly leading to the split of the band.
By August 1969, however, Hendrix had formed a new band in order to play the Woodstock festival. The set featured an improvised instrumental version of 'The Star Spangled Banner', clearly symbolic of the unrest in US society, over both civil rights issues and the Vietnam War.
Hendrix became a victim of his own wild-man image when, in September 1970, he died in a barbiturate-induced coma in England. His body was returned to the US.

aku pernah baca somewhere, masa Jimi Hendrix mati kat spital, dia actually tercekik kat muntah dia sendiri kerana dia lalui proses " barbiturate ".
aku ingat ni cam mana vokalist ACDC & drummer Led Zeppelin pun mati sama jugak pasal banyak sangat togok alkohol, then mabuk, then tertido then tercekik kat muntah sendiri pasal no one around nak kasi dorang tido in a proper position...

Definition
When barbiturates (a type of depressant drug which causes relaxation and sleepiness) are taken in relatively low doses, the clinical syndrome of intoxication is indistinguishable from that associated with alcohol intoxication.
However, excessive and prolonged dosages of barbiturate drugs, such as phenobarbital, may produce chronic symptoms including forgetfulness (memory loss), irritability, changes in alertness, and decreased interpersonal functioning. Barbiturates can also cause an acute overdose syndrome which is life-threatening. |

All along The Watchtower ... Banyak sangat lagu Jimi yang aku minat.
Woodstock 1996 ... Red Hot Chili Peppers paid a tribute to Jimi by dressing in Jimi's costumes.
Md Nor Hendrix guitarist Rusty Blade pun minat Jimi ni :lol
Man Kidal dalam album solo dulu pun rasanya ada cover lagu Red House.
